PA Budget Passes In Time For New Fiscal Year

Pa. begins a new fiscal year Friday and the state legislature has delivered a budget.  But Governor Tom Wolf says he will sign the appropriations bill as soon as there is a sustainable revenue package to pay for it.  Wolf says he looks forward to continuing to work with lawmakers to achieve this.  In a bi-partisan vote, the state house reconciled the bill passed by the state senate on Wednesday.  The $31.5-billion dollar spending plan contains an increase of $250-million dollars for Pennsylvania schools.  That includes a 2.5% hike for state colleges.  There’s also $15-million to fight the state’s opioid crisis.
