Wolf Reacts To Potential SCOTUS Abortion Reversal

In light of the leak of a draft opinion possibly ahead of a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and allowing states to restrict abortion, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf issued a statement on Tuesday. Wolf has vetoed three different anti-abortion bills introduced by members of state General Assembly and he says abortion access in the commonwealth will remain legal and safe as long as he is governor. Wolf says Roe v. Wade has been the law of the land for nearly 50 years. He says abortion bans lead to worse health outcomes for pregnant people and babies, increased rates of maternal mortality, and financial hardship that hurts families. Wolf called the potential reversal “an attack on privacy, on bodily autonomy, and on the right to health care – but more than that, it’s an attack on our future.”
