PA Recount: Oz Wins

Pennsylvania’s mandatory statewide recount of all 67-counties is complete, and the results confirm that Mehmet Oz is the winner of the Republican U.S. Senate race. Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman says Oz garnered 31.1% of the vote, David McCormick had 31% and Kathy Barnette totaled 24.6%. The recount was automatically triggered under state law after unofficial results showed the margin between Oz and McCormick was within a half of a percent. The result totals do not include undated or wrongly dated ballots. McCormick conceded the race 2-days after the recount began. Now Oz will face Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman in November. Two-term Republican PA Senator Pat Toomey is retiring. Fetterman is off the campaign trail as he recovers from a stroke.
