Another Court Filing As Recount Continues For GOP U.S. Senate Primary

York and Lancaster are among a dozen counties who could conduct a hand recount of the GOP U.S. Senate primary. That request is from about 45 Republican voters in a new Commonwealth Court filing. Celebrity heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz leads former hedge fund CEO Dave McCormick by just 922 votes. The narrow margin was enough to trigger an automatic statewide recount which is underway. Meanwhile, still no ruling from a lawsuit from the McCormick campaign filed in the Commonwealth Court to require counties to include mail ballots missing handwritten dates on their secrecy envelopes. Also, the U-S Supreme Court has put a hold on a lower court ruling that said PA election officials must count those specific mail-in ballots as they consider the issue. The recount runs through June-7th with results tallied on June-8th.
