Waterway Deaths In York, Lancaster & Lebanon Counties

People who were reported missing in local waterways last weekend have been found dead. A man’s body was pulled out of the Codorus Creek in York Monday. The Coroner’s Office says 26-year-old Andrew Altland of York fell in to the water along West Philadelphia Street around 8:15pm Sunday. His autopsy is scheduled for today. And in Lancaster County, a 76-year old kayaker who was reported missing Sunday afternoon in the Conestoga River near Bridge Road in Upper Leacock Township was found dead on Monday. His identity has not been released. An autopsy in that case is set for tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in Lebanon County, two people were pulled out of the Swatara Creek near Jonestown Sunday night. A 42-year old man and a 60-year old woman were brought to the hospital, but the male died from his injuries.
