Two People Die In York Traffic Accidents

A Hanover man injured in a traffic accident last weekend has died.  Southwestern Regional Police say Richard Fissel was driving when he had a medical event that caused him to run a stop sign and get hit.  Officers say it happened last Saturday at 4PM at the intersection of Old Joseph and Salem Roads.  Meanwhile, a Thursday afternoon traffic accident claimed the life of 79-year old Ellen Betke of Newberry Township.  The Coroner’s Office say Betke ran off the 300-block of Old York Road just before 4PM and hit a tree.  She was wearing a seatbelt.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.
